Summer sides & salads fresh off the grill
With the grill going this summer, working overtime on steaks, burgers, chicken and brats, it's time to think about what else rounds the menu. No need to go back into the kitchen to heat up the oven for a fresh take on sides or salads. Highlighted here are a refreshing watermelon salad and a cool crab and avocado dish, which can do as a side or a main course.
One way to get more vegetables on your menu is to put them on the grill. Here we highlight a platter of grilled zucchini, eggplant, bell pepper and onion that makes for a super-easy summertime appetizer or, with some salumi and cheese, a light dinner.
