Stay filled with hope that a change can occur

"Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting."

- Acts 2:2 (NIV)

Are you still waiting after days, months and years for a change in your life? Do you feel like your prayers for healing, a mate, or a promotion have fallen on deaf ears? Sometimes when we've struggled in an area for a long time, we want to give up. I've been there, too.

Years ago, I had applied for a nurse supervisor position at the recommendation of my boss. I was getting excited about it, only to find my hopes dashed when I was told I was the second choice. However, while on vacation six months later, I received a call the job was mine if I was still interested. A sudden change had occurred.

In another instance, my son was in an accident that left him in a coma. The doctors gave a pessimistic report for his recovery. However, God had another plan. After arriving home from the hospital late one evening, in my state of exhaustion, I fell into bed. An hour later, I was awakened by a phone call telling me my son had risen from his coma. What a sudden change!

Sudden changes are in the Scriptures. We are given accounts of people who had been sick for 12, 18 or even 38 years before they received a sudden change and were healed.

Other followers of God waited many years before they were promoted to their divine destiny. At Christ's instruction, the disciples waited 120 days for the wind of the Holy Spirit to suddenly arrive with a mighty entrance, filling their lives with new gifts and abilities.

You may not understand circumstance, but don't give up. No matter how long you've waited, stay filled with hope that a change could occur at any time.
