16-year-old girl charged with murder of Uber driver in Lincolnwood
A 16-year-old girl has been charged with the fatal stabbing of an Uber driver early Tuesday in north suburban Lincolnwood, according to police.
Eliza Wasni has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Grant Nelson, 34, was working as a driver for the ride sharing company Uber when he was stabbed at 3:22 a.m. near the intersection of Touhy and Lincoln avenues, Lincolnwood police said.
Nelson, a Wilmette resident, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he died at 7:56 a.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
