Local Officials Asked to Hear Safety Concerns in Carillon
Carillon is soliciting participation from Local Community Leaders and Press Reporters to address pending unsafe conditions.
Carillon, in Plainfield Illinois, is an over 55 community located on Weber Road just south of Interstate 55. We are comprised of over 2,100 residences and more than 3,000 residents. The people of Carillon have major safety concerns with the pending Weber Road expansion project.
Management personnel in Carillon have scheduled a Strategy and Planning Session on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Carillon Theater to discuss the need for at least a temporary (during the lengthy construction project) traffic control signal to be installed at the Carillon south entrance on Weber Road. There will be a large number of citizens attending this meeting.
Our north gate traffic is currently regulated and kept safe for our residents entering and exiting on Weber Road by utilizing effective traffic control signals. Our south gate, which is 1 mile away, has no traffic signal to facilitate entry and exit to Weber road and poses a very real danger during road construction. With the large number of residents in Carillon, we cannot be limited to one entry and exit point.
We have invited local and State elected and appointed officials to attend this important meeting to discuss this need with us. To date, we have 6 conscience community leaders who have accepted our invitation to participate in this meeting at the Carillon Club House. We are asking for community leaders who have interest and involvement in the Weber Road project as well as our leaders with concern for community safety, to attend this meeting.
