Questions for pols in weekend parades

On Memorial Day weekend we'll get to see a bunch of wonderful people out watching or participating in parades showing their support for those who have served in the military.

In those parades we'll see lots of politicians telling us how they support the military and our veterans.

Just keep one thing in mind when you see them: Ask yourself how many of these politicians have actually done something to help those on active duty and our veterans. Ask yourself how many of them have spoken out against President Trump's executive order that eliminated child care for active duty military.

Or spoke out against his executive order cutting the housing allowances for the spouses and children. Or spoke out against President Trump's intention to cut 1,100 VA healthcare facilities.

Ask them when was the last time that they helped pass a bill that actually benefited active duty military or veterans. Not a bill that increased defense spending, a bill that gave active duty and veterans better benefits.

And then verify whether they are telling you the truth, or not. There are many sites on the Internet that rates federal politicians on their support of active duty military and veterans. Check those and not the politicians' websites.
