2 bodies found in water in Indiana; incidents separate

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say they recovered two bodies from water a few blocks apart in northeastern Indiana in what are considered separate incidents.

The deaths weren't immediately linked to heavy rainfall this week that sparked flash flooding in Fort Wayne, but the recovery of one of the bodies from the Maumee River in the city was made more difficult by high, swift-moving water.

Crews on Thursday removed a man's body from debris lodged against the Tecumseh Street bridge. Authorities didn't say what may have led to the death, but they said his body appears to have been in the water for some time.

Also Thursday, a man's body was found in a pond at Lakeside Park. Authorities had been searching for a man who was apparently fishing on Wednesday and didn't return.
