Adler Center Hosts Exhibition of Historic Photography Celebrating Libertyville High School's Centennial
The David Adler Music and Arts Center will host a photography exhibition celebrating Libertyville High School's 100th year. The exhibition, sponsored by the Libertyville-Mundelein Historic Society, will be on display during MainStreet Libertyville's annual Home Tour on Saturday, June 9.
The Patricia Saam Cousins Collection Exhibit of photography features a variety of images taken by Richard Behan between 1946 and 1950. The collection is named after Behan's high-school sweetheart.
"The images in the Patricia Saam Cousins Collection will make everyone smile," said Jenny Barry, president of the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society and curator of the exhibit. "They are a wonderful view of the many aspects of Libertyville High School student life - clubs, athletics, dances, academics - from seventy years ago."
Join the Adler Center and the Libertyville-Mundelein Historic Society for a free, public opening reception on Friday, June 2 from 6 - 8 pm at the David Adler Music and Arts Center.
Then, see the Patriciat Saam Cousins Collection again during MainStreet Libertyville's tour of historic homes on June 9 from 10 am - 3 pm. The home tour features five historic Libertyville homes and three gardens, as well as guided tours of the David Adler Music and Arts Center, the historic estate and atelier of renowned North Shore architect, David Adler.
