Keep fighting against 'pressure culture'
Thank you, Tessa Newman, for having the courage to address the "pressure culture" experienced by too many 21st century high school students.
Ranking-savvy districts statistically rely upon kids capable of delivering high test scores (the top 20 percent pulls the aggregate scores for the bottom 80 percent), hence the Honors/AP push. Who benefits in the long run?
Does this promote learning?
Let's insist that our local districts provide outcome measures (college attrition/retention) and real testimony from all possible recent graduates to better understand what Tessa is describing.
