Lafayette man gets 64 years for 10 molesting convictions
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Lafayette man to 64 years in prison for 10 convictions of child molesting against three victims dating back to 2009.
Tippecanoe Circuit Judge Thomas Busch sentenced 52-year-old James Ly Tran on Monday. A jury convicted Tran of the 10 counts in March after a three-day trial.
The Lafayette Journal & Courier reports (http://on.jconline.com/2qp83uT ) the allegation against Tran came to light when one of the victims told police last June that he had molested her. That led to discovery of the other two victims.
Police arrested Tran last June after discovering he had withdrawn money from his 401(k) account in possible preparation of leaving the Lafayette area.
