Arlington Heights Arts Commission hosts 'The Heights of Drama' event
Join the Arlington Heights Arts Commission for a celebration of "The Heights of Drama" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights.
The event will feature performances by the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, the Rolling Meadows High School Improv Group and the Up and Coming Theatre ensemble.
The Metropolis performers will present a number from its production of the musical "Hair," which opens May 18.
The Rolling Meadows Improv Group will use suggestions from the audience as inspiration for its comedy skits.
Up and Coming Theatre Company's cast will showcase a number from its winter production of the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," plus numbers from its shows "Heathers - Seventeen" and "Candy Store."
In addition, there will be a ceremony honoring Ken Simpson, winner of the Arts Commission's 2016 Photography Competition.
The event is free and open to the public.
