Police: Woman killed after being rammed into tree with car

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago authorities say that an 18-year-old woman is dead after another woman repeatedly slammed her into a tree with her car following an argument.

Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Friday on the city's South Side. Authorities say the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old woman is in custody and charges are pending.

Authorities allege that after an argument the 24-year-old got into a car and chased the other woman onto a sidewalk and then pushed the woman into a tree with a car, ramming her with the vehicle multiple times.

The Chicago Tribune reports a damaged Jeep Liberty with wood chunks in its smashed bumper was found about a half mile from the scene.
