Water polo: Deerfield sectional finals set: Stevenson vs. Mundelein

The Stevenson girls water polo team got a convincing 21-3 win over Buffalo Grove in the Deerfield sectional semifinal.

Claire Haas led the way with 6 goals for the top-seeded Patriots while Fiona Gaffney had 3 goals.

Goalie Brigitte Lefebvre had 4 saves while fellow goalie Anna Mossakowski had 3 saves.

Also at Deerfield, Mundelein got a 10-5 win over Lake Forest.

Stevenson and Mundelein meet for the sectional title at 11 a.m. Saturday at Deerfield.

Stevenson stays perfect: Top-seeded Stevenson improved its record to 32-0 on the season with a 21-2 win over McHenry in the Deerfield sectional.

Also at Deerfield, Mundelein got an 8-6 win over Libertyville.

Stevenson meets Mundelein for the Deerfield sectional title at noon Saturday.
