Aurora man convicted of molestation

An Aurora man was convicted Thursday of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl he used to live with, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.

Orane R. Foster, 24, of the 1300 block of Andover Drive, was found guilty of four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Authorities say he assaulted the victim between June and August 2015.

Prosecutors say Foster was living with the victim and her mother in Aurora, and the assaults took place in their home.

He's expected in court again at 1:30 p.m. July 7 for sentencing. He faces a minimum sentence of 27 years and will have to register for life as a sex offender. Upon conviction, his $9,000 bond was revoked, and he is currently in the Kane County jail.

"Many courageous acts led to the right outcome of this complex and emotional case," State's Attorney Joe McMahon said. "This 8-year old showed tremendous strength in speaking up to put a stop to this horrific abuse. At such an early age, she has already shown the character of a survivor. My thanks to the entire prosecution team who delivered justice for this child."
