Batavia Lions selling hanging baskets Saturday

The Batavia Lions Club will hold its 35th annual plant day sale, Saturday, May 13. The sale will include hanging baskets of fresh, locally grown flowers, just in time to treat mom for Mother's Day.

The Lions flower sale has been a Batavia tradition for 35 years, and this year's proceeds are earmarked to fund the Batavia Lions scholarship, awarded to a Batavia resident graduating senior going on to college or trade school who exemplifies unselfish service to others, especially those in need.

Watch for the Lions' hay wagons at the southeast corner of Wilson and Water streets, near Prairie Path Cycles and at 1918 W. Fabyan Pkwy., next to the Walgreens and near Trader Joes.

Four roaming wagons will be in Batavia neighborhoods on the east and west side.
