Truth about tax freeze

I was so happy to see Ralph Martire's commentary in the April 14 Daily Herald. Finally, someone has stood up to expose the folly of Gov. Rauner's "property tax freeze" demand, which only serves to tie the hands of local government entities that are already suffering due to the continuing budget fiasco in Springfield. With a real chance for a "grand compromise" and a start at resolving Illinois' fiscal crisis, the governor instead torpedoes the effort and takes to the airwaves with another barrage of misleading commercials.
