Mundelein 14, Whitney Young 1: Mundelein rolled up 10 hits in the nonconference victory.
The Mustangs are now 22-4 on the season.
Jeff Morton had 2 hits, including a home run, while Ryan Patel and Austin Greco each finished with 2 hits as well. Both had a double.
Austin Greco was the winning pitcher.
Warren splits: Warren split a doubleheader with Fremd, losing the first game 2-1 in eight innings and winning the second game 8-6.
In the second game, Warren had a 6-1 lead after two innings.
Luke Schmitt led the Blue Devils with 3 hits, including a double.
Carmel splits: Carmel split a doubleheader with Nazareth.
Carmel lost the first game, 15-7. Austin Ehren had 3 hits and a double for the Corsairs while Drew Wiegman and Jim Tarzan each had 2 hits.
In the second game, Carmel got an 8-1 win. Ehren, Tarzan, Lukas Galdonie and Tony Baumgart each had 2 hits. Joey Lake was the winning pitcher.
Carmel is now 11-7 on the season and 6-4 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
Evanston 5, Vernon Hills 4: In a heavily contested game, Evanston broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh inning. The Wildkits were able to score 2 runs off of reliever Danny Wizceb. Joe Rangel (1 earned run, 3 strikeouts, 3 walks) gave Vernon Hills a quality start going six innings.
Rangel was hot at the plate, picking up 2 hits, including a double, and driving in a run.
Nick Marras also had 2 hits, including a double. He drove in 2 runs.
Vernon Hills drops to 13-12-1 on the season.
Libertyville 5, Hoffman Estates 4: Libertyville scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Riley Gowens drove in 2 runs for the Wildcats and Billy Krumm was the winning pitcher.
