Girls soccer: Burlington Central clinches conference crown

Burlington Central's girls soccer team grabbed the first Kishwaukee River Conference championship thanks to a 7-0 win over Woodstock North. Krysten Pellikan enjoyed a 2-goal outing while Jordan King totaled 1 goal and 2 assists to help Central (18-2-2) go undefeated in the KRC at 12-0. Erin Rafferty, McKenzie Freeman and Megan Majewski each provided 1 goal and 1 assist. Zoey Kollhoff tallied 1 goal while Taylor Abbott had 1 assist and keeper Abbi Ciganek's shutout consisted of 2 saves.

CL South 3, Prairie Ridge 1: The Gators (15-1-1, 6-0) posted a big second half against the Wolves in a Fox Valley Conference action to up their win streak to 9 and their goal differential in that span to 51-3. After Jess Schoenfeldt tied the game in the first half off a Courtney Sengstock assist, Schoenfeldt assisted Taylor Bittenbender's goal and Abigail Wiegand scored off an assist from Jillian Brokhof. Keeper Annika Sevick was solid in goal again with 10 saves.

Bartlett 1, St. Charles East 1: In Upstate Eight crossover action, the Hawks (9-7-4) and Saints (8-3-6) managed what has become commonality for St. Charles East these days - a tie. Carrigan Sablik and Hannah Kolb scored goals for their respective squads. Tabitha Evans had 1 assist for Bartlett while keeper Teagan Noesen made 12 saves in net.

Dundee-Crown 3, Hoffman Estates 2: In nonconference action, the Chargers (9-8) got over the .500 mark and staved off a late Hawks rally. Katelyn Skibinski led D-C with 2 assists while Rylee Quillen, Sam Christesen and Anna Kieltyka all scored goals. Autumn Seaton also had an assist while Chargers goalie Taylor Gonio posted 5 saves.
