Baseball: The hits keep coming for Wauconda

Wauconda's baseball team rolled up 15 hits in earning a 14-4 victory over Grayslake Central on Thursday in Northern Lake County Conference play.

Brock Glavey, Jacob Bicknase, Trevor Sefcik, John Herbst and Spencer Bills all had 2 hits apiece for the Bulldogs.

Herbst was also the winning pitcher. He had 4 strikeouts over 4⅔ innings.

Tony Nueman had 3 hits for Grayslake Central.

Libertyville 6, Mundelein 2: Libertyville rolled up a total of 10 hits in the North Suburban Conference win.

Ben Arnold led the Wildcats with 3 hits while Tim Jean added 2 hits.

Winning pitcher Colin Fields had 5 strikeouts over seven innings.

Brendan Murphy belted a home run for Mundelein.

Glenbrook North 6, Vernon Hills 2: Glenbrook North got off to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first and kept its foot on the gas.

Vernon Hills rolled up 10 hits but left too many runners stranded.

Joe Rangel led the way offensively for Vernon Hills, going 4-for-4 with a double. Brennan Reback and Nick Marras also had 2 hits each.

Vernon Hills dropped to 13-11-1 and 6-4 in the Central Suburban League.

Grant 4, Grayslake North 3: Winning pitcher Ben Kusiak moved to 2-0 on the season with the win. He gave up just 1 earned run over three innings.

Kusiak also doubled and drove in a run.

Jimmy Friel brought in the winning run for Grant when he was hit by a pitch.

Declan Peterson had 2 hits for Grayslake North.

Warren 4, Prairie Ridge 0: Evan Hill pitched a complete game shutout, scattering 7 hits with 7 strikeouts. He also did not yield a walk.

Lucas Schmitt had 2 hits for Warren, which also got a double from both Matt Temaner and Hill.

Antioch 10, Round Lake 6: Antioch survived a 5-run rally by Round Lake in the seventh inning.

Antioch got 3 hits from Austin Delgado and 2 hits from Connor Szwajkowski. Winning pitcher Eston Iman had 3 strikeouts over two innings.

For Round Lake, Lucas Hollingsworth had 3 hits while Tyler Roman drove in 2 runs.
