Girls soccer: Bartlett blanks Larkin
Playing on its on-campus field for the first time, the Bartlett girls soccer team defeated Larkin 4-0 Thursday in Upstate Eight Conference crossover action.
Brooke Bednarke, Jenna Dombrowski, Tabitha Evans and Natalie McGinnis scored goals for the Hawks (9-7-3). Evans, Dombrowski and Bednarke each had an assist as well.
Teagan Noesen (1 save) and Nykia Wetterman (0 saves) split time in goal for Bartlett.
CL South 1, Huntley 0: Jessica Schoenfeldt scored on a penalty kick with 17 minutes remaining in the second half as Crystal Lake South (14-1-1, 5-0) won this Fox Valley Conference game. Annika Sevcik posted the shutout in goal for the Gators.
Dundee-Crown 5, Streamwood 3: Sam Christensen scored twice while Katelyn Skibinski, Autumn Seaton and Taylor Coffman had single goals for Dundee-Crown (8-8-0) in this nonconference game. Braylin Mensik, Skibinski and Coffman each had assists for the Chargers. Diana Santillan (2 saves) and Taylor Gonio (0 saves) were in goal for D-C.
ACC 4, Chicago Christian 0: Gina Cortino had a hat trick and Amy Flores had a goal and 2 assists for Aurora Central (11-4-2) in this Metro Suburban crossover. Alex Montalbano had 5 saves in the net for the Chargers.
Cary-Grove 6, Hampshire 0: Teagan Jones scored 2 goals while Mollie Immens, Kelly Stayart, Alex Airhart and Natalie Gallant each had a single knock to lead the Trojans (10-2, 6-1) to a Fox Valley Conference win. Jones, Stayart and Stephanie Scrima had assists for C-G.
Burlington Central 8, Harvard 0: Anna McMahon had a hat trick and Jordan King added 2 goals for the Rockets (16-2-2, 10-0-0) in the Kishwaukee River. McMahon also had 2 assists while Alyssa Mariani, Alexis Rosa and Taylor Abbott added an assist each. Abbi Ciganek made 1 save in goal for the Rockets.
Geneva 2, Elgin 0: Molly McGavin and Jenna Dominguez scored the goals while Alicia White and Jenni Santacaterina had assists to lead Geneva (16-1-1) to this Upstate Eight River win. Emma Harkleroad (1 save) and Katie Montgomery (0 saves) shared time in the net for the Vikings. Freshman Margie Troyke had 6 saves for Elgin (9-7-4, 1-4-0).
