Road construction begins in Algonquin neighborhood

Construction began this week on a roughly $1.3 million road project throughout the Glenmoor subdivision in Algonquin, officials said.

Arrow Road Construction Co., based in Mount Prospect, is removing and replacing 2.74 miles of road surface in the residential area between Route 62, Highland Avenue and Haegers Bend Road, according to village documents. Curb, gutter, driveway, sidewalk and utility repairs are also included.

The project, which is costing the village about $700,000 less than originally budgeted, is expected to be complete by the end of July, weather permitting.

The construction work may cause intermittent lane closures throughout the neighborhood, officials said, though residents will still be able to access their properties.
