Lake Zurich sticks with electricity aggregation
Lake Zurich officials say a public electricity aggregation program has been extended for three years.
Officials said the idea behind the effort is to provide residents and small businesses with a competitive choice in the marketplace. Lake Zurich has a contract with Dynegy Energy Services at a fixed rate of 6.701 cents per kilowatt hour until July 2020.
The renewed aggregation program is meant to offer price stability and assurance of one fixed rate for the entire 36 months, while expectations are that power supply prices and the adjustable ComEd rate may trend upward in that time.
