Mundelein Park District dancers shine at regional competition

Submitted by the Mundelein Park District

Performers from Mundelein Park District's Dance Program scored big at the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge held in Schaumburg in April.

The group was awarded two Regional Champions, one in "Senior Solo" and one in "Senior Small Group." Many "High Golds" and other prestigious accolades were awarded to the Petite, Intermediate, Senior, and Advanced Dance Companies, including solos, duets and trios.

"We are thrilled with the results and so proud of our dancers," said Dance Coordinator Heather Burnes. "It's quite an accomplishment, with thousands of dancers competing."

The Mundelein Dance Program will have its annual dance recital at Mundelein High School. "A Night at the Movies" will include three performances: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Tickets are $9 each, free for ages 3 and younger.
