What local experts would do to improve the meeting space

The conference room has to fit your company, culture and the tasks that have to be completed in the space, said Mike Warren, workplace culture consultant for Rieke Office Interiors of Elgin.

He said an architectural firm has different needs for the conference room than a marketing company would. "Each room should have a unique solution to maximize the productivity and success of the space," he said.

Some rooms are only used for internal meetings where others are to close a big business deal and others are to brainstorm the next big technology or health care breakthrough, Warren said.

Batir Architecture in St. Charles has clients throughout the country, so video equipment for meetings would be an essential part of upgrading this room.

The furniture is aging and uncomfortable and would need to be replaced.

A fresh coat of paint would freshen things up.
