Grass Lake Road improvements

Lake County, Lake Villa Township, the village of Lake Villa and Antioch Elementary District 34 recently approved an agreement to build a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the north side of Grass Lake Road from Deep Lake Road to near the Oakland Ridge subdivision. The county will pay $200,000 of the estimated $275,000 cost, with the others sharing the remainder. Construction is expected in 2019. Also, a crosswalk at Painted Lakes Boulevard, a pedestrian crossing signal at Deep Lake Road and bike-friendly shoulders on both sides of Grass Lake Road are part of a resurfacing project this summer.
