Lloyd's goal can't stop Lyon advancing to women's CL final

PARIS (AP) - Carli Lloyd's goal for Manchester City wasn't enough to stop Lyon advancing to an all-French final where it will defend its Women's Champions League crown against Paris Saint-Germain.

Lyon won 3-2 on aggregate despite losing 1-0 at home to City in the return leg of their semifinal on Saturday, with Lloyd scoring the winner.

PSG defeated Barcelona 2-0 to wrap up a 5-1 win on aggregate in the other semifinal.

Lloyd, the world player of the year, faced compatriot Alex Morgan in Lyon's team, with the Americans taking advantage of a gap in the U.S. schedule to secure short-term moves to European clubs this season.

Lloyd broke the deadlock in the 57th minute after Lyon 'keeper Sarah Bouhaddi sent the ball straight to her.

At the Parc des Princes, Sabrina Delannoy scored with a penalty kick for the hosts and Miriam Dieguez added an own-goal as PSG made it to the final for the second time.

Delannoy converted from the spot after Cristiane was fouled in the box in the 55th.

Dieguez inadvertently beat her own 'keeper six minutes later as she tried to clear a free kick from Eve Perisset.

The final is in Cardiff on June 1.
