The bystanders' role

One last comment on the United Airlines passenger fiasco. The video reveals that many of the passengers were outraged enough to take out their cellphones and record the event. The removal of a passenger in the manner displayed is indeed an outrage. Yet, not one of the passengers on the plane came to the rescue of their follow passenger by offering up their seat. What has happened to the human compassion that would have solved the situation? Just using your cellphone is not enough. Shame on United for how they handled the situation, Shame on the Department of Aviation Police and shame on every one of the other passengers on board who could have ended this with an act of self sacrifice.
