'The come back kids'
We've all heard the story of David and Goliath but the teachers and staff want to say that it is possible!
In December, 2015, the staff of Saint Alphonsus Liguori School in Prospect Heights were told that it would be necessary to close the school unless $400,000 was raised for past debts. By the first week of February, 2016, not only was over $400,000 raised and deposited, the school enrollment met the Archdiocese's requirements.
Today, Saint Alphonsus School is going strong and plans on being here for many years to come.
As the school's 60th anniversary is approaching in 2018, Saint Alphonsus looks back on the many years of success for thousands of students. Many have gone on to become successful doctors, accountants and career people.
"We are so proud of all of our graduates", said Principal Linda Chorazy. We base our education on Gospel centered values and academic excellence.
"Our Early Education Center starts our children at 3 years of age and works with small motor skills as well as sharing and communication skills," remarked Betty Cloud, Marketing and Development director. "Our junior high is one of the best in the area and with smaller classes, our teachers are able to work one on one to make sure that the students stay on track for a successful transition into high school."
Saint Alphonsus embraces and celebrates students of many different cultures. There are students enrolled that have Indian, Polish and Korean backgrounds, to just name a few.
"So much happens at our school that we invite everyone to visit our website at www.saintalphonsusschool.com. You'll enjoy the video and we would welcome all parents to come and tour our school anytime. Please call for an appointment (847) 255-5538", said Chorazy. Please call anytime.
