Honor a Veteran in the Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade - Honor Flag Unit

Glueckert Funeral Home is proud to sponsor "Honor Flags," in the 2017 Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 29, 2017.

Honor Flags are a way for the community to pay tribute and show our thanks to the men and women who served in our armed services. We do that by walking as a unit in the Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade carrying an American flag and wearing a personalized Honor Ribbon bearing the name of any Active Duty service member or Veteran, living or deceased.

Request a banner for a veteran (past or present) by bringing a 3' x 5' flag on a pole to Glueckert Funeral Home no later than May 23, 2017.

Please bring the attached application with your Flag to Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights Il 60004.

We will customize an Honor Ribbon that will be worn by the person carrying your Flag. The Honor Ribbon will include: Honorees Name, Branch of Service and if applicable, war served in.

You are welcome to carry your loved one's flag, or we will find a volunteer to carry it for you. There is no charge to participate.

If you have participated in a previous parade and would like your banner represented again, please drop it off at the funeral home. New banner requests can be made on the attached form or online at www.GlueckertFH.com (scroll down to "Memorial Day Banner Request").

Finally…You can participate by working registration, volunteering to carry an Honor Flag in the parade, or by volunteering at the Ceremony at Memorial Park following the parade.

About the Memorial Day Parade…

This will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017.

The Parade steps off at 9:30am - sharp. Anyone marching with the Honor Flag Unit MUST arrive in the Parade Assembly area

by at 8:45 am. We will assemble just EAST of the Fire Station on Davis Street. Additional details will follow when parade positioning is completed.

After Memorial Day, Flags with Ribbons can be picked up at Glueckert Funeral Home until June 3, 2017. All flags remaining after that date will be donated to the Arlington Heights American Legion Post #208.
