No injuries in Naperville house fire
No injuries were reported Monday afternoon in a house fire on the 1500 block of Chat Court in Naperville, authorities said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters said they responded at 11:34 a.m. to a call from a resident reporting smoke inside the two-story home. The first crews arrived within four minutes and found moderate smoke on the first floor and fire in the basement. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes but crews remained on the scene to complete salvage and overhaul work.
The house has been declared uninhabitable due to smoke and fire damage.
Firefighters from West Chicago, Wheaton, Bolingbrook and Oswego provided backup while Naperville crews were at the scene.
