Girls soccer: St. Charles East blanks Streamwood
Eight has been a common number for the St. Charles East girls soccer team of late after a 0-1-1 showing at its own Augsburg-Drach tournament. The Saints (6-1-3, 3-0) unleashed an 8-0 thrashing on Larkin last week and Tuesday they did the same to Streamwood in Upstate Eight River action.
Chantel Carranza and Megan O'Neal tallied 2 goals each while Hannah Kolb, Rose Stackhouse, Izzy Albano and Claire Rasmussen (2 assists) each had 1. Allison Strauss dished 2 assists while Ashley DiOrio and Sydney Daeschler provided 1 each.
CL South 5, Dundee-Crown 1: Jess Schoenfeldt's 2-goal, 1 assist night highlighted another win for the Gators (7-1-1, 1-0) in Fox Valley Conference action. Abigail Wiegand had 1 goal and 1 assist and Courtney Sengstock, Taylor Bittenbender added goals. Jenna Ross provided 2 assists and Annika Sevcik had 6 saves in net. The Chargers (5-6, 2-1) saw Barylin Mensik score on a corner kick from Rylee Quillen.
Cary-Grove 3, CL Central 1: Kelly Stayart had 1 goal and 1 assist in an FVC win for the Trojans (5-2, 2-1). Stephanie Scrima also had a goal for C-G, who benefitted from an own goal by the Tigers.
Westminster Christian 2, Keith Country Day 1: Anna DeHaan and Lexi Kuhlman scored goals in a Northeastern Athletic win for the Warriors. Madisen Bayer and Hailey Kim had assists while keeper Grace Bickford collected 4 saves.
Harvest Christian 7, Elgin Academy 0: In a battle of crosstown teams the Lions (5-4-2) won this nonconference match thanks to Emily Halter who led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist. Becca Garrick had 1 goal and 1 assist while Holley Coclasure, Nicole Ahrens and Gracie Ozburn scored goals. Keeper Isa Garcia had 1 save but has a goal as well while Gaby Fallon also had 1 save in net.
