Plato Center HCE to learn about senior care

The Plato Center unit for Home and Community Education will meet at 1 p.m. Friday April 21, at the Plato Center Town Hall, 10N924 Rippburger Road. The hostesses are Barb Allen, Dee Boldt and Muriel Covington.

The guest speaker will be Caroline Olinger on Seniors Helping Seniors, an in-home senior care service. Its goal is to help provide non-medical assistance for seniors in their daily living.

At the April meeting, they will be taking reservations for the annual banquet on Wednesday, May 10, at the Mill Creek Golf Club. Martina Mathisen, a professional reenactor, will portray Marie Antoinette. The reservations of $20 are due by April 28.

At the March meeting, Jackie Anderson reported that she took 174 cough pillows and 18 walker bags to Presence St. Joseph Hospital. Nancy Sisler came with her cards and reported that over the years she has donated over $60 to the Community Crisis Center through the sale of her cards.

The Plato Center unit meeting is open to all. Call Joan at (847) 931-8120 to attend the meetings.
