Verizon installing antennas near Rosemont entertainment district

Verizon will install nine antennas on the Rosemont entertainment district parking garage to help increase its regional coverage, officials said.

The Rosemont village board Wednesday approved a five-year lease with Verizon that will allow the cellphone carrier to install the antennas near the Williams Street garage's top parking deck, along with related mechanicals in a nearby control room. The village will receive $40,000 a year under the deal, which can be renewed twice in five-year increments, if both sides so choose. Those extensions would also come with 10 percent increases in the lease.
