Meet Easter bunny at Aurora Lions' pancake breakfast Saturday
Free vision screening for youth will be offered at the Aurora Noon Lions Club's ninth annual "Pancakes with the Easter Bunny" breakfast.
The fundraiser will be 7:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, 732 Prairie St. in Aurora.
The menu includes pancakes, sausages, mini doughnuts, orange juice and coffee or milk. Seconds on pancakes are free.
Michele Needham, Noon Lions president, said screening for youth ages 6 months to 6 years will be offered for the first time. The screening looks for near sightedness, far sightedness and astigmatism. A printout of test results will be provided.
Parents or guardians must sign a consent form for children to be tested.
Needham stressed the screening does not replace a complete eye exam. Children who have not had an eye exam in the last 12 to 18 months should be tested regardless of the screening results.
The screening is supported by a grant from Oak Brook-based Lions Clubs International Foundation and District 1J Lions.
Free color photos with the Easter Bunny will be taken and available in minutes. Photographers are invited to take their own photos with the bunny.
Tickets are $5, $3 for children, age 3 to 12, or $20 for a family. Call (630) 921-1307 for pancake breakfast information. Proceeds will benefit Lions vision- and hearing-conservation charities. Visit www.facebook.com/auroranoonlions/.
