Naperville North 11, Metea Valley 8:
An 8-run fourth inning powered the Huskies (1-6, 1-0) to the DuPage Valley Conference victory. Brendan Lacey tripled and drove in 2 runs. Jack Ginzkey, winning pitcher Jack Whitley, Matt Schwartz and Jared Dunnett all had 2 hits. Jake Kmiecik and Carter Wardell, who had 2 RBI, had 2 hits for Metea Valley (2-5, 0-3).
Waubonsie Valley 12, Glenbard North 1:
The Warriors (6-2, 2-1) broke out to a 6-0 lead in their DuPage Valley win. Connor Yukna went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI while Eric Esch went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and Alek Radicevich drove in 2 runs. Ben Jaynes homered. Zach Laws pitched 4 innings to notch the win. Jim Zay had 2 hits for Glenbard North (4-5, 0-3).
WW South 13, Lake Park 9:
The Tigers (4-5, 1-2) took the lead for good with a 9-run outburst in the bottom of the second inning of their DuPage Valley victory. Ryan Simek went 4-for-5 and Mitch Sandleback went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Brandon Luna picked up the win with 5 innings of work. Zach Aehlert and Rory Marino drove in 2 runs for Lake Park (3-3, 1-2).
Montini 4, St. Francis 3:
The Broncos (6-5, 1-0) won in the Chicago Catholic after building a 4-1 fifth-inning lead. Jake Karczewski went 3-for-3 and Ryan Nelson drove in 2 runs at the top of the lineup. Alex Luka pitched 5 innings for the win and Karczewski 2 innings for the save. Tim Sullivan, Liam Brown, Nick Kosmetatos and Tommy Mayor had 2 hits for St. Francis (2-6, 0-1).
York 6, Addison Trail 5:
After sending the game to extra innings with a run in the fifth and 2 runs in the sixth, the Dukes (8-1) won it in the bottom of the eighth when Mike Bernal coaxed a bases-loaded walk. Andrew Deardurff, Nick Lee and Bernal had 2 hits while Joey Chiappetta drove in 2 runs. Zach Pflum was the winning pitcher in relief. Matt Crandall hit a 3-run homer for Addison Trail (2-4).
Glenbard West 12, Morton 11:
Sam Kaske's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning won the game for the Hilltoppers (4-4). Matt Skelton went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI. Ryan Petersen drove in 2 runs. Kolin Kennebeck was the winning pitcher in relief.
Lisle 14, Timothy Christian 6:
Zach Heidenry, David White, Aaron Call, Trevor Stitt and Nick Janitch combined for 14 hits and 9 RBI for the Lions (4-6). Four pitchers combined on the mound, with Bryan O'Connell getting the win. Joey Davidson and Brian Schiff drove in 2 runs for Timothy Christian (7-2).
Wheaton North 17, Hinsdale Central 8:
The Falcons (4-4) rallied from a 7-2 deficit by scoring 7 runs in the third inning and 7 runs in the fourth. Will Robbins and Erik Mueller drove in 3 runs apiece while Jackson Gray, Drew Atkinson, Kelson Shepherd, Mitch Creer and Chris Donahue all had 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Kielor Roberts struck out 10 in 5.2 innings of relief. Andrew Zapka and John Harzich had 2 RBI for Hinsdale Central (5-1).
Benet 12, Solorio 6:
Tyler Bautista and C.J. Birck each drove in 3 runs for the Redwings (7-3), who also beat University High 8-2. Joe Wardell had 3 RBI in that victory. Mike Dunn and Steven Arrowsmith were the winning pitchers.
Wheaton Academy 10, Walther Christian 0:
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning closed out the victory for the Warriors (1-5). Anthony Vavrinchik, who homered, Peter Crowe, who had 3 RBI, Kellen Mitchell and Sam Mennilla had 2 hits. Max Martin also drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Mike Cortez allowed only 2 hits.
