Softball: Antioch gets past Stevenson

Antioch 9, Stevenson 7: The host Sequoits improved to 4-0 with their second win in as many days, getting 2 hits apiece from Jill Foote (triple), Abby Pyburn, Carlie Gaylord (2 RBI) and Piper Foote (2 stolen bases).
Megan Lawrence doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Callie Tubbs had 2 stolen bases. Hannah Cook pitched 3 innings in relief and earned the win.
Stevenson (0-7) was led offensively by Emma Oriatti, who went 3-for-4, and Mic Faunce, who was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI. The Patriots' other contributors included Alyssa Pauly (RBI) and Alana Labaschin (2-for-4, 2 RBI).
Libertyville, 11, Buffalo Grove 1: Kenzie Rother went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles to lead Libertyville.
Sam Hildale, Lyndsey Lyon and Lauren Heraty each had 2 hits for the Wildcats.
Winning pitcher Hannah Heraty went five innings and rolled up 5 strikeouts.
Mundelein 6, Grayslake North 5 (8): Mundelein won in extra innings on a walk off single by Meghan Ehemann. The Mustangs took a 4-1 lead on 2-run homerun by Breanna Adams in the bottom of the third inning. Grayslake North came back from a 2-run deficit in the fifth inning when Grace Brown (2 run shot) chased starter Annie Morelli.
The next batter, Jenna Pozezinski smashed an opposite field home run on the third pitch she saw.
But the Mustangs rallied to tie the game up in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch. Brown (3-4, home run, double, 2 RBI), Kylie Conrad (2-for-4), Pozezinski (2-for-4, home run, RBI), Katie Moats (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Carissa Popp (2-for-4, double) all had multiple hits for the Knights. Eight of the 9 starters for Mundelein had hits.
Jordan West (2 RBI), Ehemann, and Adams (2 RBI) all drove in runs.
Grant 4, Huntley 3: Grant rolled up 10 hits in claiming a nonconference win.
Winning pitcher Sydney Goesselle did not allow any walks.
