Larkin grad Ruff plays in ADDIX all-star game

Larkin graduate Quentin Ruff ended his collegiate career on a high note.

Ruff, who just completed his senior season at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., recently played in the 2017 ADDIX Basketball Champions All-Star Game in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The game is an annual event that showcases senior all-stars from western Michigan schools. This year's game took place at Davenport University. The game features players from schools in the GLIAC along with the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Selection to the game is based on on-court success along with integrity, ethics and character.

Ruff was one of only two NCAA Division II men's players chosen to compete in the game.

This past season, Ruff finished second on the team in scoring at 13.8 pointers per game and ranked among the league leaders with 88 three-pointers. He was an all-GLIAC second-team selection and was named the MVP of the GLIAC tournament, helping the Bulldogs claim the league's postseason title for the third year in a row.

Ruff, the team's only senior, led Ferris State to an appearance in the NCAA Division II Midwest regional semifinals for the second consecutive year. Ferris set a school record with 28 wins and also won the GLIAC regular-season and tournament titles in the same year for the first time in school history.

Ruff is a two-year letter winner for the Bulldogs following a standout junior-college career. He leaves as one of the program's all-time best 3-point shooters.
