Man faces murder, other charges in death of disabled woman
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A judge has entered not guilty pleas for a 24-year-old Evansville man facing charges including murder and kidnapping in the slaying of a 19-year-old disabled woman who had vanished last summer.
Terrence W. Roach appeared in court Wednesday via jail video. Court records say he faces three counts of felony murder and single counts of kidnapping, criminal confinement, burglary with serious bodily injury and abuse of a corpse in the death of Aleah Beckerle.
Beckerle disappeared from her home July 17. Her decomposing remains were found March 27 in a vacant Evansville house next to Roach's residence. A coroner says an autopsy report remains pending.
Police say Roach was arrested Friday after confessing to abducting and killing Beckerle.
Roach's attorney, Glenn Grampp, says he's seeking more information on the charges.
