Man killed in two-car crash on Route 25 near Bartlett

One man is dead and another injured after a two-car crash Saturday morning along Route 25 near Bartlett, authorities said Sunday.

According to the South Elgin and Countryside Fire Protection District, rescue personnel responded to the crash at 6:12 a.m., in an area just north of 7N657 Route 25.

Authorities said both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage in the crash.

One man was declared dead on the scene after he was extricated from a vehicle, fire officials said. His identity was not disclosed Sunday.

Another man was taken by ambulance to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin with minor injuries, authorities said.

Bartlett police are investigating the crash.
