Keep Kane Co. a beautiful place
Kane County Forest Preserve residents will be happy to see their taxes go down $40 next year and an additional $62 the following year. This $102 tax relief is welcome news to all.
This tax reduction makes it even easier for voters to support the wonderful opportunity we have to invest a little of that savings and gain a lot by voting "yes" on the Kane County Forest Preserve Land Preservation and Preserve Improvement Referendum on Tuesday, April 4.
It's only $22 a year. That means if this $50 million new open space referendum passes, everyone will still see their taxes go down, while also preserving an additional 2,000 acres of protected open space for families and future generations. Some of the funds will also be used to make improvements to the existing preserves and make them more available for the public.
For $1.83 a month for a $250,000 home - that's less than a mini Frappuccino - we have the power to preserve another 2,000 acres of land that would otherwise be developed. Preserving open space helps the environment, minimizes congestion, and helps steady the balance between rural and urban landscapes that is so important to us in Kane County.
Please help keep Kane County a beautiful place to call home.
