Elgin Township vote crucial to seniors

I have been a participant in the Golden Diners program for almost three years. I am handicapped and have special dietary restrictions that they are able to accommodate.

In addition, I have a very difficult time going to the grocery store, as it is hard for me to get around. The meals that are provided reduce many of my stresses and activities of daily living.

Golden Diners also has a special program that provides pet food for those with pets. This is privately funded and allows me to keep my cat healthy.

There is a proposal coming up on an April 4 Elgin Township referendum. It will provide approximately $500,000 for senior service agencies in the township. These agencies will use this funding to directly serve the seniors of Elgin Township. This referendum will cost around $1/month to homeowners.

I urge everyone in Elgin Township to support this referendum. It is important and the funds are vital to these agencies and the seniors.
