Teens arrested for stolen van in Palatine, police say

Palatine police arrested three 17-year-old Chicago boys for possession of a stolen motor vehicle on the 1200 block of East Dundee Road about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday.

The two plainclothes officers noticed the juveniles jumping in and out of a parked white Ford van and investigated further due to recent thefts from vehicles in the area.

The officers discovered the van itself was stolen and that one of the boys had been reported missing by Cook County's sheriff's police. All three boys were released to the custody of their parents or guardians and will be prosecuted in Cook County juvenile court.
