Women's Club of Inverness learn about brain fitness
More than 60 Women's Club of Inverness members and guests heard memory expert Dr. Linda Sasser speak at the club's March meeting. Sasser's interactive presentation, "Keep Your Brain Fit and Your Memory Sharp," explained how memory works and the nature of age-related brain changes.
Sasser, who reminded everyone of the importance of social activity, exercise, nutrition, spirituality and sleep, along with continued education, offered strategies for better recall: Pay attention, associate, visualize and elaborate - PAVE.
Prior to the presentation, and in the spirit of fun, look-a-likes Linda Kolbusz-Kosan and Deb Armstrong, played a part in a doppelgänger activity, testing observation.
The meeting also looked ahead to the April 13 WCI fashion show, "My Fair Stylish Lady," which is from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates. Hats and flowers, vendors and silent auction, to be followed by lunch and a ZZAZZ production of runway fashion.
