Former Wheeling president endorses Horcher
On April 4th, Wheeling residents will have the opportunity to cast a vote for the candidate for Village President. Of the three candidates on the ballot, I believe that Patrick Horcher is the best choice. He is a lifelong resident and local businessman, and currently serves on the Cook County Farm Bureau. He knows the village and its people, and his only agenda is to assure efficient, effective and responsive governance.
I served on the Village Board during the time Pat was a trustee, and found him to be capable, competent and independent. During that time he gained valuable experience regarding municipal finance, zoning and planning, and working with other governmental bodies. More importantly, he learned the limitations to the power of the office of Village President, and those qualities needed to be an effective leader and public servant.
As Village President, I believe that Pat would listen respectfully to concerns of both citizens and petitioners, and work with his colleagues to provide them with timely and appropriate responses. He is committed to conducting village business in the open, and assuring transparency in village policies and procedures.
It is important for all of us to participate in the election of our village officials, and to choose those persons of ability and integrity that best represent our interests. Vote for Patrick Horcher on April 4th.
