Police: Man tried to video record girl changing clothes in fitting room
Palatine police are searching for a man they say attempted to video record a minor girl while she was trying on clothes Sunday afternoon at a Target store.
According to police, officers were called about 3:50 p.m. to the store at 679 E. Dundee Road after the girl saw a cellphone being held underneath her fitting room door. The girl told police she screamed after seeing the phone, causing the man to flee the store.
Based on witness statements and security footage, police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person in surveillance photos released Tuesday. The man was wearing a baseball cap that appears to be black in color with has the word "Bauer" in yellow lettering offset on the front.
