WCI: Staying Focused

Over sixty Women's Club of Inverness (WCI) members and guests heard memory expert Dr. Linda Sasser speak at their March meeting. Her interactive presentation, Keep Your Brain Fit and Your Memory Sharp, explained how memory works and the nature of age-related brain changes. She reminded everyone of the importance of social activity, exercise, nutrition, spirituality and sleep, along with continued education. Dr. Sasser offered strategies for better recall: pay attention, associate, visualize, and elaborate: PAVE.

Prior to the presentation and in the spirit of fun, lookalikes Linda Kolbusz-Kosan and Deb Armstrong, identities often confused, played a part in a doppelganger activity, testing observation.

The meeting also looked ahead to the April 13th WCI fashion show: My Fair Stylish Lady at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre, 9:30-3:00. Hats and flowers, vendors and silent auction, to be followed by lunch and a ZZAZZ production of runway fashion.
