Group seeks reasonable compromise on restrooms

The Daily Herald recently printed a letter by Tracey Salvatore that made accusations against the grass roots group Parents for Privacy. Not only were the accusations completely false, but Salvatore failed to mention the one and only thing Parents for Privacy does: that is to advocate for the restoration of bodily privacy to students in the locker rooms of District 211 and now also in the junior high schools of District 15.

Salvatore referred to our response to this outrageous decision as a "manufactured" controversy without ever explaining the controversy itself. Could this be because she knows that most parents and residents of D211 and D15 don't think boys and girls should be undressing in school locker rooms together?

Far from being a "manufactured" controversy, the situation was created by the outrageous demands of the federal government and the ACLU in the fall of 2015 and continued by our two cowardly school boards who failed to stand up for their own community.

Parents for Privacy is merely responding to this intolerable decision by advocating a common sense solution that protects the privacy of all students by designating school restrooms and locker rooms according to biological sex and making separate, private accommodations for students who are uncomfortable using the facilities of their sex.

If you agree, vote for Bonatz, David and Forest on April 4. And let the candidates in D15 hear from you about it.
