Lake County Cares Raises More Than $10,000 At Inaugural Shamrock Shivers Polar Plunge

LAKE FOREST, IL (March 13, 2017) - Lake County Cares is pleased to report they raised more than $10,000 at their inaugural Shamrock Shivers Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 12th. More than 133 people braved the cold day by the water, 72 of whom went into the water at Forest Park Beach in Lake Forest.

"For our first year holding this event, I'm thrilled with the turnout and the support for Lake County Cares. This will definitely be an annual event for us," said Pam Gracyalny, Executive Director of Lake County Cares. "I can't believe how many parents brought their children and plunged together as a family. It was really adorable."

With this year being the 50th anniversary of Lake County Cares, the organization is launching new programs throughout Lake County and is exploring new ways to make Lake County stronger and bring people together in support of local community impact.
