Trump makes it hard to 'get over it'
I have frequently heard from the voices of Trump supporters that we liberals should "get over it" because now he is and it's time to come together and drop the hatred. While I feel no hate toward Trump, I can't "get over it," in light of just how he campaigned and now how he appears to govern.
Here is a man who excessively used name calling, insults, put-downs and inflammatory language frequently in his statements and who now expects us all to just forget that and come together as a nation. I wonder if McCain, Rubio, Cruz, Hillary, Jeb Bush, etc. can just forget how he spoke about them.
He also as president makes statements that are factually inaccurate which furthers my doubts about his ability to hold such an office.
I plan to keep a close eye on the Trump administration and see if just perhaps he can govern in a civil and reasonable manner. But for now at least I'm not going to "get over it."
It's still a free country where one can think and speak as one pleases.
