Conant wins once, ties twice in own tourney

Conant tournament: Conant's boys water polo teams went unbeaten in three games Saturday in the round-robin tournament it hosted on Saturday.

The Cougars tied York 5-5, also tied Glenbrook South 8-8 and defeated St. Charles North 9-4.

Against the North Stars, Alec Burke led the way with 4 goals and Cory Pedro had 4.

Both Glenbrook South and York were ranked among the preseason top by illpolo.com.

Palatine tournament: New Trier came up with four impressive victories over two days to take the tournament title against a strong and varied field.

The Trevs started with a 17-4 victory over Palatine on Friday, then beat Homewood-Flossmoor 17-9, Loyola 13-5 and St. Ignatius 19-7.

Palatine finished winless with setback against Homewood-Flossmoor (18-7), Curie (14-7) and Oak Park-River Forest (14-5) on Saturday.
