Second City performing at Metropolis to help build house for disabled soldier
Second City with perform Wednesday, March 15, at the Metropolis Performing Art Center, 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights, for a fundraiser to build a new house for Army Spc. Tony Chobanov of Naperville and his family.
The Chobanovs' house will be built by A Soldier's Journey Home - a nonprofit organization dedicated to building one house per year for a disabled veteran. Local high schools helped with the design and will build the interior and exterior walls of the house with lumber donated by Home Depot. In May, volunteers will assemble the new house in Spring Grove in 10 days.
Tickets are $75 and are only available at www.asoldiersjourneyhome.org/events. The event starts at 6 p.m. with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
